It&#8217;s from a small project and only released 5 tracks but this main track have been played by most major dj&#8217;s and is probably still being played every now and then. So which track am I thinking of? It&#8217;s ofcourse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Luminary\" title=\"Luminary\" target=\"_blank\">Luminary<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Luminary-Amsterdam-Maor-Levi-Remix\/master\/25934\" title=\"Amsterdam\" target=\"_blank\">Amsterdam<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Super8+%26+Tab\" title=\"Super8 &#038; while slowly building,<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?feature=player_detailpage&#038;v=zQc9Bc6DQqE#t=281s\" title=\"04:40\" target=\"_blank\">04:40<\/a> when the drums start.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/?attachment_id=5502\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5502\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Luminary-Amsterdam.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Luminary Amsterdam\" width=\"680\" height=\"380\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Luminary-Amsterdam.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Luminary-Amsterdam-380x212.jpg 380w, https:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Luminary-Amsterdam-340x190.jpg 340w, https:\/\/www.bejbi.se\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Luminary-Amsterdam-200x112.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Luminary_(band)\" title=\"Luminary\" target=\"_blank\">Luminary<\/a> was british producer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Laurence+Rapaccioli\" title=\"Laurence Rapaccioli\" target=\"_blank\">Laurence Rapaccioli<\/a> and american singer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Ashley+Tomberlin\" title=\"Ashley Tomberlin\" target=\"_blank\">Ashley Tomberlin<\/a>.<br \/>\nLaurence was already known for his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Arksun\" title=\"Arksun\" target=\"_blank\">Arksun<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Hidden+Logic\" title=\"Hidden Logic\" target=\"_blank\">Hidden Logic<\/a>-aliases and at the time Ashley was really unknown in the scene.<\/p>\n<p>They started working together as early as 2003 but their first release under the name Luminary came in 2005 with the track <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Luminary-My-World\/master\/25969\" title=\"My World\" target=\"_blank\">My World<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ashleys vocals over Laurence&#8217;s track is really smooth, especially in the progressive Andy Moor-remix. The track was released as a 3&#215;12\u201d set whereas the first contained Original Mix and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Nikola+Gala\" title=\"Nikola Gala\" target=\"_blank\">Nikola Gala<\/a> Mix, the second an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Andy+Moor\" title=\"Andy Moor\" target=\"_blank\">Andy Moor<\/a> Mix and an Arksun Mix and the third a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Pesh\" title=\"Pesh\" target=\"_blank\">Pesh<\/a> Mix and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Hydroid\" title=\"Hydroid\" target=\"_blank\">Hydroid<\/a> Mix.<\/p>\n<p>First released on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/DJ+Ti%C3%ABsto\" title=\"Tiesto\" target=\"_blank\">Tiesto&#8217;<\/a>s mixalbum <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Ti%C3%ABsto-In-Search-Of-Sunrise-4-Latin-America\/master\/49806\" title=\"In Search Of Sunrise 4\" target=\"_blank\">In Search Of Sunrise 4<\/a> and later picked up by the label <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/label\/Lost+Language\" title=\"Lost Language\" target=\"_blank\">Lost Language<\/a>, the track got huge supports by many of the best dj&#8217;s like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Armin_Van_Buuren\" title=\"Armin Van Buuren\" target=\"_blank\">Armin Van Buuren<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The second single, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Hidden-Logic-Presents-Luminary-Wasting\/master\/25975\" title=\"Wasting\" target=\"_blank\">Wasting<\/a> was signed to Armin Van Buuren&#8217;s label <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/label\/Soundpiercing\" title=\"Soundpiercing\" target=\"_blank\">Soundpiercing<\/a> and featured on Armin&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Armin-van-Buuren-A-State-Of-Trance-2005\/master\/6603\" title=\"A State Of Trance-compilation\" target=\"_blank\">A State Of Trance-compilation<\/a> before the ink had dried. <\/p>\n<p>Wasting also came with an Andy Moor-remix and like My World, both tracks are sweet progressive tracks and Ashleys soothing vocals fits the tracks like a glove.<\/p>\n<p>But it was with the third single, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Luminary-Amsterdam\/master\/25934\" title=\"Amsterdam\" target=\"_blank\">Amsterdam<\/a> that got the big attention. This time, signed to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Above_%26_Beyond_(band)\" title=\"Above &#038; Beyond\" target=\"_blank\">Above &#038; Beyond<\/a>&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/label\/Anjunabeats\" title=\"Anjunabeats\" target=\"_blank\">Anjunabeats<\/a> and released with remixes by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Smith+%26+Pledger\" title=\"Smith &#038; Pledger\" target=\"_blank\">Smith &#038; Pledger<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Maor+Levi\" title=\"Maor Levi\" target=\"_blank\">Maor Levi<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Super8+%26+Tab\" title=\"Super8 &#038; Tab\" target=\"_blank\">Super8 &#038; Tab<\/a>&#8217;s remix isn&#8217;t featured on any singles, just as a track on various compilations like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Various-Anjunabeats-Catalogue-CD-33\/release\/2931121\" title=\"Anjunabeats Catalogue CD 33\" target=\"_blank\">Anjunabeats Catalogue CD 33<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All mixes of this track is simply amazing but i&#8217;d say that Super8 &#038; Tab&#8217;s remix is the one that I prefer, a pure trancer.<\/p>\n<p>Above &#038; Beyond loved Ashley&#8217;s voice so much that they even let her sing on the amazing track <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/master\/18676?text=Above-Beyond-Cant-Sleep\" title=\"Can't Sleep\" target=\"_blank\">Can&#8217;t Sleep<\/a> off their legendary debut album, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Above-Beyond-Tri-State\/master\/18736\" title=\"Tri-state\" target=\"_blank\">Tri-state<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Their fourth and last release, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Luminary-Dark-Eyes\/master\/25964\" title=\"Dark Eyes\" target=\"_blank\">Dark Eyes<\/a> was signed to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Solarstone\" title=\"Solarstone\" target=\"_blank\">Solarstone<\/a>&#8217;s label, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/label\/Solaris+Recordings\" title=\"Solaris Recordings\" target=\"_blank\">Solaris Recordings<\/a>. While the original mix is somewhat of an ambient chillout-track, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Funabashi\" title=\"Funabashi\" target=\"_blank\">Funabashi<\/a> remix is really a pumping trancetrack. The release also came with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Gift+%282%29\" title=\"Gift\" target=\"_blank\">Gift<\/a> Remix which is pretty decent, although too electro for me.<\/p>\n<p>On the 17th October 2007 Luminary announced that they have decided to split. They decided to leave a last fingerprint to their loyal followers with the track <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Luminary-Believe\/release\/2566666\" title=\"Believe\" target=\"_blank\">Believe<\/a> which was available as free-to-download on their webpage.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Laurence+Rapaccioli\" title=\"Laurence\" target=\"_blank\">Laurence<\/a> himself describes Believe as \u201d(believe) which for me personally is the best track we ever created\u201d and I can almost agree. The track (as the others) are really well produced and got a really sweet melody under the amazing vocals by Ashley.<\/p>\n<p>So, what happened after this? Well, Ashley started to sing for various dj&#8217;s like Paul Van Dyk, Boom Jinx and Matt Darey, only to name a few and Laurence hasn&#8217;t really released anything since Luminary quit.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to describe a track and what it&#8217;s effects are to you. The easiest for me is goosebumps. If you&#8217;ve followed my posts since the beginning you&#8217;ll see the goosebump-points marked in the post. That if nothing describes really well what I feel when I hear a really good track.
