Their biggest hit to date is their remake of 80&#8217;s band <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Japan\" title=\"Japan\" target=\"_blank\">Japan<\/a>&#8217;s popular song <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Japan-Ghosts\/master\/74418\" title=\"Ghosts\" target=\"_blank\">Ghosts<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The singer on the Tenth Planet&#8217;s version is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Clare+Pearce\" title=\"Clare Pearce\" target=\"_blank\">Clare Pearce<\/a>, who&#8217;s a member in their other project, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Barraka\" title=\"Barraka\" target=\"_blank\">Barraka<\/a>. I really love the tiny flanger they put on her vocals.<\/p>\n<p>Although the original 1982 UK Top 5 hit by Japan is abit dark and moody, the Tenth Planet-release feels a bit happier.<\/p>\n<p>Originally released in 1998 in the US on promo-cd but made popular in 2000 when releaserd in the UK and the rest of Europe. <\/p>\n<p>A cool fact about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Tenth-Planet-Ghosts\/release\/3002813\" title=\"1998 promo-cd\" target=\"_blank\">1998 promo-cd<\/a> is that the original listing only had 6 tracks but the actual release had 7 tracks. The version not listed was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Redanka\" title=\"Redanka\" target=\"_blank\">Redanka<\/a>&#8217;s Spooky Disco Vocal Mix.<\/p>\n<p>The version I prefer is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Vincent+De+Moor\" title=\"Vincent De Moor\" target=\"_blank\">Vincent De Moor<\/a>-remix which IMHO is a really well-produced trancetrack, especially the bassline which also can be heard in Vincent&#8217;s project <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Veracocha\" title=\"Veracocha\" target=\"_blank\">Veracocha<\/a> (together with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/Ferry+Corsten\" title=\"Ferry Corsten\" target=\"_blank\">Ferry Corsten<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>After the success of Ghosts, Tenth Planet released a second single, the 2002 single <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Tenth-Planet-Walk-On-Water\/master\/197117\" title=\"Walk On Water\" target=\"_blank\">Walk On Water<\/a> which didn&#8217;t do any good so the project was scrapped after that.<\/p>\n<p>Although the track is nearly 15 years old, I still find the track quite fresh. The track has ben re-released over the years and was even featured as classic of the week on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Armin_Van_Buuren\" title=\"Armin Van Buuren\" target=\"_blank\">Armin Van Buuren<\/a>&#8217;s radio show <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A_State_Of_Trance\" title=\"A State Of Trance\" target=\"_blank\">A State Of Trance<\/a>. And that&#8217;s what I concider it to be.
