News: #Podgressive EP041 – Behind The Scenes

Tja tja bloggeeen!

podgressive-cover-041

Aah finally back on track! Sorry for the last month, I just didn’t had the time for the pre-podgressive blog.

Gigs in April – June

It’s impressive, happens to me year after year. I can have very silent periods when it comes to gigs. Sometimes for several months and then when I get one, I suddenly get really busy with lot’s of gigs, sometimes so many that I need to say no to a couple of them. The last months has been really quiet and now suddenly I’m booked like 5 weeks. Intresting!
Coming up first is BouleBass, a collaboration with bejbi.se, Technophobia and Boulebar Globen on the 27th. Could it be better, boule, bass, beer and a free entry!? The line-up is legendary Özgür Can, Tatsumi Suzuki and Technophobia. Hope to see you there!

Next up on the 4th May is a gig in Norrtälje for a newly started club, Cryptonites. Just a week after that on the 11th, I will be heading to Uppsala with Jonas Hörnblad and play for a friends birthdaybash. 18th May, hopefully if the weather allows will be the start for Kollektivet’s open air premiere. Kollektivet is a bunch of great friends and djs where me and Patric from bejbi.se are among other well known swedish talents. Also coming up after that is JP Bates and Jay van Kay’s birthdaybash where I will be playing alongside a massive local line-up with like 10 artists or something. Really cool!

kollektivetbw

Kollektivet has also got an great opportunity to host Monday Bar – Black And White Cruises sundeck and the Monday Bar floor (Tango). We are collecting mixes from talents to fill up the Future Lounge. Future lounge is where most of my friends including me got their first gigs and it’s a perfect opportunity to get your skills and name out! So, send your mix to furure@kollektivetsthlm.se and we will take a listen!

#Podgressive EP041

We are back this time with a full swedish line-up. First up is Drakenberg. His carreer has turned in to global traveling. With gigs at WMC in Miami and across europe these past months, he is truly on fire! We will also take a listen to Seaman. I’m sure that his uplifting set will get your temperature rising. By the way, he will also play 4th May at Cryptonites! As always Podgressive EP041 will be hosted by me and I think that I got some good stuff building up progressively from house, minimal and up to progressive and uplifting tunes! Podgressive EP041 will be released on the 26th April at #Podgressive.

New releases: Daft Punk – Get Lucky (Feat. Pharrell Williams)

Daft-Punk-Helmets-Columbia-Album-artworks
[Buy it on iTunes]

After hundreds of re-loops, bootlegs, leaks and edits of the samples we have been feed over social medias the last weeks, we finally have an official release straight from Daft Punk themselves.
This IS the track of the summer. Although we heard a ‘leak’ on Wednesday after some analyzing we decided that the first verse from Pharrell sounded a little off, as well as unmastered segments and it all around seems as though it was either a poor leak or a very skilfully crafted bootleg. The track itself is purely infectious funk that will fill you from head to toe and have you grooving in one way or another.
If this track can’t put a smile on your face then you’re not a human (funny considering the circumstances).

I think it’s safe to go ahead and declare that the Robots are back. And they have put the groove on!

News: Kollektivet hosts Sundeck and Future Lounge

kollektivetbw

Kollektivet, a newly formed group of DJ’s, Promoters, Media and other people with a huge heart for the EDM-scene and Music, has recently been given the opportunity to host the popular Sundeck-floor and the Future Lounge floor at the upcoming MondayBar Black & White Cruise.

Future Lounge is a popular feature on the MondayBar Cruises since 2005, where bedroom-dj’s and producers is given a chance to play, very often this is the first time, in front of a crowd.
Previous years this has ended with over 50 contestants for the attractive place.

As one of the members of the Crew of Kollektivet, bejbi.se’s Patric has been included in the jury where the Future Lounge mixes will be sorted out and hopefully gets a spot to play on at the Cruise.
To make this a fair contest, one member outside the Jury receives all contributions and renames the mixes. After that all 6 persons in the jury is only given the mix as a anonymous file, ex. 2.mp3, with no ID3-tag or anything that will give away on who has done the mix.
Together with a excel-document, the Jury will give every mix a total score. This way no one gets special treatment.
When the entry time has ended, the jury have an audition meeting where they decide on who gets the attractive spot.

fljudge2
This is a Screenshot of Patric’s desktop after 7 contestants has been sent out to the Jury for reviewing.

Do you want to be a part of this?
Feel like trying your luck and play here, send a mix to us at max an hour via file transfer or email to the following email address, as last of Sunday, April 28.
We want all types of electronic dance music like house, techno, trance, psy, hard trance, hardstyle etc.

These are the rules for Future Lounge
To be eligible, you must have booked a cabin by yourself, and no compensation is included, but we will give you a number of drink tickets, etc.. Whoever we select will get to play 45-60 minutes on the sun deck between 12:00 to 04:00.
If, against all odds, the weather gets really bad, we will keep the Future Lounge indoor instead.

Do not forget to write how we can contact you by email, postal address and phone number and what you call yourself as a DJ. Gladly also a presentation of yourself and the type of music you are going to play. The file you send may not exceed 150 mb heavy and preferably mp3.

This time it’s DJ collective, the group will hold auditions so the mix will be sent to this email address:

News: Ultra Music Festival day 2

With Day 2 of Ultra Music Festival done, I came back to my hotel with a huge smile on my face.
This was awesome!

Huge stages, with massive sound and visuals everywhere, it’s sure a feast for the eye, as well as the ears.

We started the day with walking through the area, even though it’s a really big area, it takes notime to walk between the areas, and there are food, beverages and toilets everywhere.

And the people, sure, it’s Spring Break here now, but there were a lot of partypeople and the pulse was high from the moment we walked inside the gates.
After 12 hours of dancing and drinking, my feet hurts and I got some sleep. And now, it’s time for day 3 of UMF, the biggest EDM-festival in the world.
